Tuition and Affordability
Conserve School's founder, James R. Lowenstine, believed that all students should have access to the unique educational opportunity of a Conserve School semester.

While one semester at Conserve School can make an incredibly positive difference in the life of a child, we recognize that, although it is an excellent investment in a student's future, a Conserve School semester may seem beyond reach of some families. That is why we have created the Lowenstine Honors Scholarship Program in which each accepted student will receive at a minimum, a $10,000 scholarship, to promote affordability for all qualified students with additional need-based support available.

The cost for tuition, room & board at Conserve School for the fall of 2018 and the spring of 2019 is $25,000. Additionally, families are responsible for a $200 enrollment fee, incidental costs, and transportation to and from school (at the beginning and end of the semester, as well as the fall or spring break). Families are also responsible for providing their students with the required gear as outlined on the “Conserve School Supply List” found under the parents tab at the top of this website. Note that specialty items like tents, backpacks, and sleeping bags are available for check-out from the school.

All accepted students become Lowenstine Scholars and receive, at a minimum, a $10,000 Lowenstine Honors Scholarship.

99% of families in the United States are eligible for additional need-based assistance with over 60% of the families eligible for $25,000 Lowenstine Honors Scholarships. Conserve School uses a simple scholarship system based on a family's federal tax information from the previous year, allowing families to determine the cost of attending Conserve School at any time during the application process.

With their federal taxable income, families can use the Scholarship Estimator to determine the projected cost of a Conserve School semester.
